The Junior Graphic Designer role

As AlphaSights continues to grow, we’re looking to add a talented Junior Graphic Designer to our small, but close-knit in-house design team. Based in London and reporting to the Brand Design Director, this is an exciting hands-on role in which you’ll be responsible for designing and creating a wide variety of digital and print assets, as well as supporting the wider team on more strategic and tactical projects. If you’re an ambitious and hard-working self-starter, with a strong passion for design, and a desire to bring value to your team, then we have the perfect job for you!

You’ll be responsible for

  • Providing creative input at brainstorm sessions and weekly design feedback sessions
  • Creating engaging one-pagers, information sheets and other literature
  • Ideating and designing infographics to showcase data reports & presentations 
  • Creating a range of graphics for social media and internal communications
  • Designing striking, on-brand Google-Slides and Google-Docs presentations 
  • Creating occasional graphics for the website, taking into account UX/UI principles  
  • Helping create motion graphics and videos if you have the skills, or are willing to learn
  • Developing guidelines, icons, and imagery to ensure all touchpoints are cohesive
  • Act as an AlphaSights Brand Guardian to ensure all work is on-brand

What we’re looking for

  • 3 months – 1 year of relevant design experience gained in a commercial environment 
  • 2:1 or above obtained at bachelor level in a design-related field, preferably graphic design 
  • Strong academic credentials and noteworthy extracurricular leadership
  • You’ll need to be a creative, inquisitive sort, bursting with ideas, and have an instinctive flair for layout, typography and an eye for detail 
  • A glowing portfolio or showreel showcasing your best design work. We want to see impressive layout skills, examples of brand or typography projects, good technical skills and intelligent design thinking
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to turn complex ideas into clearly understandable visuals
  • Excellent communication skills with a natural aptitude for connecting with people. You’ll need to be open minded, flexible, and not precious or protective about your work
  • A resilient, positive outlook. Someone who’s not easily fazed by tight deadlines and able to pivot at short notice when needed
  • An ambitious, quick learner with a can-do-attitude who loves to learn new things and improve themselves

Technical skills

  • Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Good working knowledge of Google Slides, Google Docs, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Motion is an advantage (but not a must!): After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D

  • Total first year compensation: £30,000
