- What do Advisors do?
- AlphaSights Advisors provide decision making assistance to members of the global business and investment community by sharing their knowledge and expertise. Clients may want information about a specific development, product or trend, or to gain a broader understanding of an industry from the perspective of those active on its frontline.
- Am I eligible to become an Advisor?
- Experienced professionals from all backgrounds are invited to apply to become AlphaSights Advisors. Our team will review your application and determine your suitability based on your credentials and experience.
- Does it cost anything to become an AlphaSights advisor?
- No. There are no fees associated with becoming an Advisor.
- How do I become an AlphaSights Advisor?
- To become an Advisor you must complete an online application and agree to our Terms and Conditions. If your application is successful, prior to participating in any advisory projects, you will be asked to reaffirm your adherence to our Terms and Conditions. You can contact our Advisor Relations team for assistance or clarification at any stage of this process.
- As an AlphaSights Advisor, what are my commitments?
- Advisors are under no obligation to take part in consultations or AlphaSights projects. If you are unable or unwilling to participate in a consultation or discuss a particular topic, you may withdraw from the consultation at any point.
- How often will I be invited to consult?
- This depends on a variety of factors including, Client interest in your area of expertise, the number of Advisors with a similar field of knowledge and your AlphaRating. AlphaRatings are influenced by various factors including completeness of your personal Advisor Dashboard, client feedback following consultations you have engaged in, and your response rate to consulting invitations.
- What is the process before taking part in a consultation?
- When AlphaSights receives a client enquiry for a consultation that is potentially relevant to you, you will be provided, by telephone or email, with an invitation to consult. This invitation will include a short questionnaire to establish whether the project does fall within your area of expertise. Once your response has been screened, you may be contacted by a member of the AlphaSights Research Team to confirm a precise match and to answer any questions you may have. - What form do consultations take?
- Most consultations take the form of telephone conversations, which typically last up to an hour. You may also receive opportunities to participate in Advisor surveys and be invited, free of charge, to industry-focussed events arranged by AlphaSights. Executive Advisors may undertake more in-depth advisory projects including one-on-one meetings and longer-term consulting engagements.
- Are my conversations with clients confidential?
- Yes. All consultations are confidential and conversations with clients are not monitored. AlphaSights places great value on the discretion of their Advisors and requires that all information about projects undertaken, topics discussed and the clients consulted with are kept in the strictest confidence.
- How will I be paid for consultations?
- Advisors can select their preferred means of payment using your personal Advisor Dashboard. After completing a consultation, you will submit an invoice to AlphaSights through the Dashboard. A payment will then be made on a prorata basis at the previously agreed hourly rate. Payments for referrals will be made automatically when a referred advisor completes a project.
- Do I need to inform my employer that I am an AlphaSights Advisor?
- Advisors are responsible for confirming that they are permitted to undertake external consulting activities and should check with their employers wherever necessary.
